The dreaded fall...

I'm behind on my blogging, but I have to jump ahead to the present because of something that happened today. I babysat my nephew Holt today. I had Paisley in her high chair eating lunch when my sister-in-law came to pick up Holt. I took the gate down and for some reason didn't put it back up. Once Paisley was done eating I put her on the floor and started doing some stuff in the kitchen. I was standing at the sink and heard this really weird noise and then I heard crying. I turned around to go see what happened and realized I never put the gate back up. I ran over to find Paisley at the bottom of the stairs. Luckily she was sitting up on the landing. It scared me! I didn't know if something was broken because she was crying. I took her upstairs, gave her a binky, and held her for a minute. She acted like nothing ever happened less than 5 minutes later. I felt like the worst mom in the world for letting her fall down the stairs. So tonight we practiced going down. I think we'll be using the gate for a while.
