Broken Heart

I think the hardest thing about being a Mom, for me, is having to sit and watch Paisley scream in agony while she gets her shots and blood drawn. We took her in for her well child visit yesterday. She was 29 inches and I think 22.2 lbs. She's doing great the doctor said. He had us go to the hospital today so they could do a blood draw and check for lead, anemia and other stuff. Thankfully Chase is able to attend all of her appointments so he holds her while she gets shots and blood drawn. Today she started crying so hard and they hadn't even poked her with the needle yet. She turned and looked at me while she was crying and it broke my heart. She looked at me like "Why are you letting them do this to me???" And the worst part about all of this, she has to go in tomorrow morning for the H1N1 vaccine. I'm so thankful she's able to get it, but I absolutely hate seeing her scared and in pain. Chase was able to get his shot today since he works in ICU. I'm thankful for that too because he's been around so many really sick patients and I worry about him getting this flu. I don't know what I would do if I lost Chase or Paisley. They mean the world to me. I love both of them so much. They are my life. We are so blessed to live in a day where they have vaccines to prevent us from getting sick. I have to admit that I'm super paranoid about this H1N1 flu. It's seriously causing me major anxiety. I think the fear of the flu will kill me before the actual flu does. Chase tells me not to worry so I guess I better end this post and get my mind on something else.

Very 1st Birthday

I can not believe that Paisley is already 1! She had her first birthday party last night. She had no idea why we were being so crazy all day, but I think she really liked all the attention. Chase and I gave our presents to her during the day. We had some errands to run. Chase picked up some yummy Burger Bar for dinner. Her party was at 6:30. The people who came were:
Grandpa Harvey
Grandma Harvey
Uncle Norm
Susie
Grandma Kenna
Grandpa Roger
Grandma Beth
Grandma Mitchell
Grandma Lori
Grandpa Drew
Braden
Kennedy
Reagan
Mckinley
Colby
Tanya
Korinne
Porter
Holt
Finley
Britain
Skyler
Mommy
Daddy
Needless to say, it was a full house. She got some Treats, $15, Clothes, Fridge Farm Toy, Books, Coat and Snow Pants, Music Toys, Soccer Ball, Jammies, and a fun toy with the colored balls that roll along the curly rubber wires (if that makes any sense at all). She made out pretty well. We gave her a Big purple Bucket to store all of her toys, a bunch of Clothes, 2 Books, a helicopter toy, and a Fridge Farm Toy. In the end, she loves the books much more than the toys. That's a good thing. Her cake was a puppy dog because she loves dogs. She didn't even know what to do with the cake. I had to break it up and feed her some before she would even touch it. She never got messy. By the end of the night she was pooped and ready for a warm bath and her warm bed. Here are some pics from her very special day.

This is Paisley's birthday party invitation and some pictures of her next to the letters O-N-E and the #1.

Fall 2009

What a BeAuTiFuL time of year!! I really do enjoy Fall. One of the many, many blessings of living in Utah... Season changes. This past Thursday was a perfect day for some pictures in the leaves and a nice walk as a family down by the river. Paisley is so photogenic so that makes it fun to snap a lot of pictures of her. We have, I don't even know how many pictures. All I know is we have A LOT!!

Ouch!!

I called my Neighbor to see if I could borrow a small sauce pan for some frosting I was making tonight, for Paisley's 2nd test-run birthday cake. She told me she had it in her hand and would bring it right over. I went down and opened up the door to wait for her. While I was standing by the front door, Paisley was standing at the top of the stairs holding onto the railing (the gate was up by the way) anyway, her hand slipped and she smacked her little face right on the railing. I watched it happen in slow motion and couldn't get up the stairs fast enough to comfort her as she was sobbing on the carpet. Uugghh, I felt like the worst Mom in the world. She has a little mark above her right eye, but she's going to be ok. I thought for sure she would have a big black bruise. She screamed until she had her binky, and then she was fine. What a tough little girl. And on top of that, she's had a really bad diaper rash the past couple of days. Her little bum has been so red and sore, I feel so bad when I have to change her diaper.
I know these are just the beginning of many, many injuries and ouchies, and I don't know if I'm ready for more.

Pumpkin Patch

For the last few years, Chase's family has been going to a Pumpkin Patch. This was Paisley's first time... 10~19~09. We braved the wind and cold and somehow missed the rain storm. Because of that we didn't have to wait in line. It's fun because you get to go on a hay ride and pick your own pumpkin. There's a field full of them and they're all different sizes. Afterwards we go to Crispy Cream's for fresh doughnuts... YUM!!

What a Sweetheart!!

Paisley is such a SwEetHeARt! She is ALWAYS HAPPY! She's learned a couple of new words. She can say DEER, DUCK, DOGGIE, NO, OH-KEE (I think this is her way of saying OK), and yesterday she said BAPPLE (Apple). She's taken at least 10 steps at one time. Not only is she a sweetheart, but she's a perfect baby. She'll sit out in the living room and play and look at board books for hours on end. She loves to sit on our lap and look at books. She isn't attached to the bottle. We give her the Binky when she goes to sleep but that's all. She LOVES other kids to come over and play. I've babysat a few different kids recently and she loved the interaction. I also take her to Discovery Time at the library once a week. She has to be down on the floor with all the other kids. She didn't inherit my shyness, and that's a good thing. Here's more pictures of our little Sweetheart.

Here's proof that she loves board books.

Here she is, walking!

You can't really tell but she's dancing to CMT.

She does this funny thing where she'll cover both ears. I'm not sure if she does it because it's loud, or what, but it's pretty funny.

Doing what she does best, giving kisses.

Climbing the stairs!

Ba-by {bey-bee)

Paisley can now say "baby". It's the cutest thing. So now she can say 4 words. Mama, Dada, What's that, and baby. So technically it's actually 5 words.
We worked with her again today on her walking, and she took 3 steps by herself. Yay!!
